With all the various iris recognition companies, it can be challenging to decide who offers the best technology. Fortunately, the US government's measurement standards laboratory, NIST, recently completed extensive testing of the world's ten most prominent iris recognition algorithms through the IREX I evaluation (released September 2009).
The purpose of the evaluation was to test standardized image formats and ensure that accuracy was maintained among the various iris recognition algorithms. All of the algorithms were tested against three separate datasets containing a diverse spectrum of over 50,000 iris images.
IriTech was the top ranked algorithm across many of the tests, including three essential performance indicators:
Best in enrollment with essentially zero failures
Best in accuracy across three datasets, with as much as 25x better results
Best at matching images produced by other software sources
