As an industry pioneer in iris recognition, the company is actively engaged in the global iris biometrics community. The company is helping shape international standards through membership on the INCITS (International Committee for International Technology Standards) Task Group on Biometric Data Interchange Formats. IriTech also holds the Chairman position for the National Defense Industry Association Industry Committee on Biometrics.
IriTech's technology is fully compatible with INCITS 379 and ISO 19794-6. We are preparing software to be ready for forthcoming ISO standards including Rectilinear (K1), Cropped (K3), and Cropped and ROI-Masked (K7). Our technology is also capable of handling JPEG and JPEG2000 compressed images.
Our embedded processor cameras produce ISO standard images usable by another vendor's software and our software can accept images produced by other vendor's hardware or software as long as it meets the ISO standard specifications. Of course, our software works flawlessly with our camera hardware. NIST IREX I testing affirmed IriTech as the most interoperable of the algorithms tested because IriTech was best able to process images provided by the other systems.
