IriTech obtains STQC certification
for India’s UID project
IriTech, Inc., best known for its superior iris recognition technology and as a leading provider of a full suite of eye scan products and services, has successfully secured the certification of its dual iris scan camera for India’s unique identification numbers (UID) project from the Standardization, Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) Directorate, the Biometric Certification Agency and attached office of the Department of Information Technology (DIT) of the Government of India.
The STQC certifies the biometric devices for complying with the standards set by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and those device manufacturers, distributors and suppliers who are desirous of deploying their devices for UID enrollment have to attain certification from STQC. With this certification, IriTech’s iris camera is proven to be capable of delivering the required outputs for enrollment and robust enough to be used in the varied climatic conditions of India, and at the same time IriTech obtained the qualification to participate in the UID enrollment market, the largest biometric project over India’s 1.2 billion residents in the history.
